Christmas is not just about doing things for our own families or even our own towns, but doing something for the incredible men and women who are defending our nation.  We found out about anysoldier.com on the radio and, after looking at their website, decided to collect money to buy hygiene kits to send to a platoon serving in Afghanistan that is part of a medic company.  These 11 men and 5 women are on duty 24/7, ready to treat injuries as they happen, and requested health and beauty items that they badly need.   There are many items one could choose from: everything from hygiene kits to weapon cleaning kits, boots, socks, and sleeping bags.  We have never felt so good and grateful as we did after ordering these gifts for some of our service members.  Their contributions to our wonderful nation exceed all words we can write.
